MICHEL-EDOUARD LECLERC, ON BEHALF OF CULTURE

PARIS, Bastille. Behind a discreet archway on rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine lies a space of remarkable architecture. In the former Hermès workshops, MICHEL-EDOUARD LECLERC reveals another facet of his commitment. A well-known French business leader in retail world, he expresses himself here in a very different register : that of art and culture. At MEL Publisher, the publishing house he founded ten years ago, art is conceived, published, and shared.

Originally from Brittany, MICHEL-EDOUARD LECLERC has always been deeply captivated by art, the other guiding thread of his life. As a committed cultural entrepreneur, he has consistently defended a vision of culture as a common good. In Landerneau, through the Hélène & Édouard Leclerc Fund, he transformed a former historic site into a contemporary art center where major artists have been exhibited – from Henry Moore to Henri Cartier-Bresson, from Jean Dubuffet to Ernest Pignon-Ernest, along with many other leading names from the international art scene. At the Chapelle des Capucins, he also ensures the preservation of the sacred art collection assembled by his parents – a gesture of loyalty and legacy.

With MEL Publisher, he continues his mission : to publish, promote, and pass on. This year, his first participation in Art Paris 2025 at the Grand Palais opens a new chapter.

Michel-Edouard Leclerc always continues to promote a vision of art as a universal right – not a luxury.
